Mission

The Colfax County Probate Court is established under Article VI of the State Constitution as a Court of Record and shall have jurisdiction to determine heirship with respect to real property in all proceedings for the administration of decedents' estates.

Office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00AM to 12:00PM. The Probate Court welcomes walk-in customers or appointments.

The judge and court clerk are prohibited by law from giving legal advice, including any cases filed in this court.

A 37 Page packet of forms and instructions is available only by visiting the office of the Probate Judge and for a fee of $5.00. There is also a filing fee of $30.00 once completed.
